The Currency of Grace
The last picture in the listing shows specials that were available during the initial release. These specials were only available when the kit was newly released.
Coordinating Neocolor II, Distress Oxide ink pads, etc., are available in separate listings. Look through the listing and decide which colors you may want to add to your collection!
Grace is foreign to us. I have even heard it described as being somewhat repulsive to our nature. We want what we want. More to the point of this study, we want people to get what they deserve. Or if we are going to be honest with ourselves, we want others to get what they deserve. But grace is something different entirely. Grace is unmerited favor. In other words, it is the granting of good things to those who have not earned them, and do not deserve them.
Our own nature is such that we want this for ourselves (although it may touch off a twinge of guilty feelings), but may not see it as right when it is bestowed on another. But for a Christian, an understanding of grace is important. And why is this? Because it is important to God. And because it is important to God, Jesus taught on the subject of grace.
This month we will delve into these teachings to better understand grace from God’s perspective. After all, it is by grace we are saved, and grace is something we cannot earn. It is death that we are able to earn. “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord,” (Romans 6:22–23).
So let us explore this strange currency of grace in which God pays us for what we did not labor.
