I prefer to wake up before my children so that I can sit in the slowness of the morning and soak up the Word of God. Before the needs and worries of the day start to tug at my “apron strings,” so to speak, I find it easier to quiet myself in God’s presence.

No matter how much time I get to spend, it’s the Word itself that fills me. God meets me with Himself and satisfies my needs. Many times, all I need is a phrase or a single verse to be filled right up. I meditate on a thought or verse, and the Holy Spirit speaks to my heart. And it’s always enough for that day.

Sometimes the goodness of God is easiest to recognize when we pause and look back. We remember the moments when He met us, the prayers He heard, the sorrows He carried, and the ways He has changed us.

This month, let’s pause together. Will you join me as I share some of the golden nuggets, favorite verses, and beautiful thoughts that God has scattered across the pages of His Word? We will look back with gratitude, be still and settle our hearts in what is true, and look ahead with trust. God gives us Himself, His grace, and His Word for the day before us. And whatever this day may hold, He will be enough for today.
