The last verse of 2 Peter instructs believers to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, while the verses before this explain why Christian growth is so very important and necessary. In our day, just as there has always been, many people twist Scripture to their own liking and interpretations, but the Bible warns that this is to their destruction. Many false teachings are simply twists of the truth, and are easy to latch onto if we aren't rooted and growing in the truth of Scripture.
The Bible warns us that many will be led astray, and we would be foolish to ignore these warnings. We won't be discussing specific false teachings, but growing in grace and knowledge allows us to discern truth from error, and even full truth from half truth. Let's learn more of how we can be firmly planted and growing in Christ so we can run and finish our race faithfully for the glory of God!
